Avon County Rowing Club is located in Saltford, about half-way between Bath and Bristol. We row on the River Avon, where we have about four kilometres of quiet water, including a straight of about 1250 metres.
Whilst the club house facilities are somewhat "low-tech", we have recently completed a number of schemes to improve the site and clubhouse facilities. These include the renovation of a side boathouse including new racking and concrete flooring, the concreting of the boathouse wide slipway and the concreting of 40 metres of the river bank.
In partnership with Bristol University we have recently installed two brand new 13 metre launching pontoons in addition to our existing one, enabling the launch and retrieval of several boats simultaneously in most river conditions!.

Bristol Ariel Rowing Club
The Club is located in the scenic setting of the Avon valley to the east of the City of Bristol. The site covers about four acres of land surrounded by protected woodlands. Within the grounds, there are three boat sheds, training facilities, clubhouse including bar and social facilities and extensive lawns. A concrete landing stage gives us access to 6 kilometres of the river Avon where coaching and training can be conducted in safety.
Ariel Rowing Club is affiliated to the ARA and is open to everyone. The only restriction to rowing members are, you should be aged 10 years or above and you should be able to swim 50 metres in light clothing.
We don't limit ourselves only to serious rowing, many club members prefer not to race and use the sport simply for full body exercise. We also run several events during the year for fun rowing including "Plum Pudding Racing" in the run up to Christmas.
